How we work

Accountech is different from other accountants. We aim to work much more closely with our clients than a traditional accountancy firm does. We won’t just be in contact once a year but as and when we are needed and we aim to work as a freelance financial controller/director and to act as a part-time member of your management team. Unlike ‘one man band’ freelance finance directors, we have the resources to support everything that you need so that you can effectively outsource the finance department and concentrate on developing your technology and selling your product. We are a partner of the online accountancy package, Xero, and this allows us to be in touch with clients’ finances day to day and to provide support as needed.

Depending on the size of the client, they can either employ their own bookkeeper whom we support or we can supply our own bookkeeping staff to either do the work on clients’ premises or remotely. Services that we supply include everything that a technology company needs from a finance department and allows them to be in control of everything from a financial perspective that they will need as they grow. Work that we typically perform for clients includes monthly or quarterly management accounts, year end statutory accounts, financial projections, cash flow forecasts, corporation tax returns, help with SEIS/EIS tax relief, R&D Tax Reliefs, SMART, TSB and EC Framework grant applications and claims, VAT returns and advice on VAT and PAYE issues. As we work with so many technology companies, we often come across the same issues in clients and so we have the relevant experience and knowledge to provide solutions quickly. With Accountech on board, you are assured of not repeating common pitfalls that other technology companies have already experienced.

Clients range from companies that have only just been formed to those that have just raised their first significant funding and require reporting systems that satisfy their new investors, to more established companies. They cover sectors including software, life sciences, renewable energy and computer games.

Accountech aims to support clients as they grow and to provide the services of experienced staff who have worked with and are familiar with the unique issues that growing technology companies experience, and also to provide those services at an affordable cost and on an ‘as needed’ basis. Growing technology companies’ needs are different from other companies and they require support from someone with appropriate experience as they grow. Accountech provides the solution.
